Quinn’s 3 month (more like 3.5 month) photo shoot

For Quinn’s 3 month pictures, I had a very cute and opinionated photography assistant to help me out. This assistant also made it into a few pics herself. Her go-to tricks to get Quinn to smile: 1) talking in a really high voice 2) attempting to make raspberries but really just spitting at her 3) making funny faces. Of all the photos, one of my favorites is the one where Quinn fell over from her perch. These girls are just too cute. And I just love how these pictures capture Quinn’s love affair with her hands. She’s always holding them like a sophisticated little lady.

One happy baby

It’s only been 3 months and 17 days that we’ve known Quinn but  we can already tell she’s a very happy soul. Now that she can smile, she does so at the sound of our voices, the sight of our smiles and even the dog. She basically smiles all the time. And now she’s even cooing. And yesterday I heard the first traces of a giggle. As I enter my last month of maternity leave, she reminds me to cherish this time with my girls. Tear. They grow up so fast. IMG_0247 IMG_0249 IMG_0252 IMG_0225 IMG_0231 IMG_0248 IMG_0331 IMG_0258 IMG_0261 IMG_0311 IMG_0339

I’m 2 months old already

Let’s play ‘Spot The Real Baby’

This is what I found when Lilla called me into the room to tell me she had a surprise for me. The expression on Quinn’s face says it all.

Already mocking her big sister

Everyone asks how it is with two kids. The truth is, Quinn is the easiest of the two. Lilla has been our little stinker as of late. She’s a great big sister to Quinn. However with the arrival of her little sister has also come the arrival of a little (rather big) thing called the temper tantrum. And man is she a master at throwing them.

During one of her recent dramatic fits–I think she threw herself on the floor sobbing because we gave her the wrong cereal–I left the room only to find her sweet 6-week old sister sleeping like this. Mocking her older sister in her sleep. You can’t make this stuff up.

Wah-mbulance

There’s a mouse in the house

Our newest addition makes the cutest little noises. She squeaks and grunts and squeaks some more. She is just the sweetest little baby. And I’m trying to take mental pictures/videos of all of her little sweet noises. Figured posting here would also help with that. IMG_3869 IMG_3942 IMG_3834 IMG_3911 IMG_3931

And then there were 4 (okay 5 if you count Penny)

I know I know it’s been over a year since I’ve posted, well anything. I plan on backtracking and posting videos and photos. Over this past year Lilla really has grown into her own little (sassy) person. She cracks us up every day with her vocabulary and spunky personality. She is quite the little ham, loving to command the spotlight and put on a show for anyone who’s willing to give her their attention. We were a little worried about how she’d take to sharing that spotlight once baby #2 came along. Lucky for us, she’s an awesome big sister.

Speaking of baby #2, we (mainly me) were convinced we were having a boy. We didn’t find out this time around and my pregnancy was so much different than Lilla. We had our boy name picked out and had narrowed our girl’s names down to three. Luckily we had decided on one that we both liked an hour before delivery. Haha good thing.

Quinn Kathryn Rodgers was born on April 19th, 2014 at 7:52pm at 8lbs 2 oz and 20 3/4 long. She came out looking just like her big sister (see pics below). And so far she’s been a great baby (knocking on wood). She eats, she sleeps and on occasion she opens her eyes to say hello. Her favorite look has to be the skeptical one. Even Lilla said the other day “baby says ‘Wait a minute,'” after looking at her funny faces.

Lilla has been a great big sister so far. She calls Quinn “my baby” and every time she talks to her, her voice goes up about 4 octaves. She loves to help us with her and covers the baby up cuz she’s convinced she’s always cold. It’s official. I’m loving our new family of four.
